Celebrating 7 Years of Performance Lighting

This summer marks 7 years since Performance Lighting began, and what a journey it’s been. From humble beginnings to becoming a trusted name in the UK lighting industry, we’ve grown not just in numbers, but in experience, capability, and ambition.
It all began in 2018, when our directors John Hall and Matthew Walker decided to take the plunge and start their own lighting business — and that’s how Performance Lighting Ltd was born.

Milestones
We had our first employee in July 2018, laying the foundation for a team culture we’re still proud of today. Just three months later, we reached our 1,000th sales order — a moment that reminded us we were on the right path.
December 2018, our very first Performance-branded product, a line of LED Corn Lamps, came to life through a valued partner in China — the beginning of what would become our growing proprietary range.
In February 2019, we hit a major financial milestone: £1 million in orders. Around the same time, our team was growing alongside the business — we welcomed our 10th team member. Later that year, we also became proud members of The Lighting Industry Association (LIA).
In December 2020, our first full container of Performance-branded LED Panels arrived — a clear sign that we were scaling up. The following March, we launched our first short-form catalogue, giving customers an easier way to explore our growing product range. By 2020, we also launched our first official website, marking another step in making our brand and products more accessible to customers nationwide.
Over the years, we’ve proudly launched over 150 product lines under the Performance Lighting brand — a growth made possible through the continued trust of our customers, the dedication of our team, and the support of our long-term partners and suppliers.
