Corporate Social Responsibility

You are here:

Since Performance Lighting was founded in 2018, our team have always undertaken a mixture of charity initiatives, ranging from sponsored running events through to spreading awareness of mental health, or donations to local children’s charities.

Similarly, we have always striven to ensure that products, packaging and other materials from our manufacturing facility, and the suppliers we work with, minimise any negative impacts upon both people and the environment.

In 2023, we further improved the benefits that our colleagues receive at Performance Lighting, and will continue to keep these under review annually, ensuring that our team benefit equally from our success.

However, we recognise that the scale of the climate emergency, as declared by over 40 countries worldwide by 2024, requires more than a piecemeal approach from both business and government.

The team at Performance Lighting take our Corporate Social Responsibility seriously, and over 2024/2025 will be working hard to develop a comprehensive policy that:

  • Will reduce the environmental impact of our head office in Leeds. This will focus upon energy and water usage, through to the materials we buy, and how we support our team to use lower carbon forms of transport.
  • Focuses upon the materials used in our Performance range of lighting products, including the plastics and packaging used, and the CSR commitments of our suppliers.
  • Supports the community in which our team and business are based.
  • Provides a stable, safe and rewarding environment for our colleagues to grow and thrive.
  • Engages and supports our supply partners, helping them thrive alongside us.
  • Inspires other companies to engage on Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, both in and outside of the lighting industry.
  • Ensures that our suppliers adhere to both environmental and modern slavery commitments.
The above represents a significant investment in both time and money for Performance Lighting, but we recognise that our business must play a role in tackling climate change, for the benefit of all.
